As part of our collaboration with the Forrest Research Foundation, The Farm welcomed Daniel Burgin, a PhD researcher at Curtin University, to spend time researching meteorites and the stories they hold about the early solar system.
During his time at The Farm, Daniel studied a meteorite that fell in Arizona, analysing its geochemistry to understand a history of water, heating and impacts spanning around 4.5 billion years. Away from the city, the residency offered Daniel an opportunity to reconnect with the night sky and the curiosity that drives his research.
The collaboration reflects a shared interest in what can emerge when researchers step outside their usual environments, spend time in place and approach their work from a different perspective.
